Technical Workshops for Advanced Network Capability Development
NGI-NZ has been contracted by MoRST to produce a series of workshops in May and June 2005.
NGI-NZ has been contracted by the Ministry of Research, Science and Technology (MoRST) to produce a series of workshops in May and June 2005 intended to address capability requirements for the Advanced Network.
Although technologies and applications for advanced research and education networks are well developed overseas, there is limited knowledge about these technologies and applications, and experience in their uses, in New Zealand. A Capability Development programme is seen as vital and is being funded by the (MoRST) to support the establishment of the Advanced Network by:
- Developing wider understanding of the nature and potential of advanced networks, and
- Informing key people in user organisations about ways to access and use the network.
The workshops will be of two days duration, held in Wellington, and cover theory and practical experience in the areas of BGP, IPv6 and Multicast protocols, and Access Grid Technologies.
For detailed information, see Capability Development Technical Workshops.
