About Membership

Membership Criteria

All applications for Membership must be submitted for approval to the NGI Board. The NGI Board will review each application and approve or decline the application. The Membership application (including the category of membership) will be assessed against the following criteria:

  • the NGI Membership Policy
  • the proposed use of the NGI Network and the Conditions of Use
  • the contribution that the Member can make to the Society

Members should meet at least one of the following eligibility criteria

  • Significant activity in Research and Education
  • Public research and tertiary education institutes – including public not for profit resources such as library’s and archives.
  • Private research and tertiary education providers where they are separate business units from parent company structures (eg. Via Lactia as a distinct business unit of Fonterra)
  • Innovation Sector Members:
    o Public or private organisations that are part of a Government initiated and funded programme for innovation where the NGI Board has determined that inclusion as a Member will benefit the aims of the NGI
