Simon Riley, Director, Net Impact, became CEO for NGI-NZ Society following the Society's AGM in June 2004.
Simon is an advisor to government, ICT policy analyst (social and economic development ) and Director of Net Impact, a technology and marketing consultancy which provides strategic business advice , research and consulting services . Simon is also a seasoned media professional spanning 20 years in media related industries and advertising in Canada and Australia .
Simon has been an advocate of Information Society issues and serves on the boards of a number of ICT related NZ national organizations.
Simon was a founding Trustee of the 2020 Communications Trust, which has been at the forefront of promoting Digital Divide initiatives in New Zealand, and is an elected Councillor on the board of InternetNZ ( formerly the Internet Society of New Zealand).
Simon was a member of the InternetNZ sponsored Next Generation
Internet project team which published "Collaborating at Speed : Innovation Infrastructure for a Knowledge Economy" and was instrumental in the establishment of the NGI - NZ Society.
