NGI-NZ Society is active in furthering the New Zealand advanced network cause on the international stage.
In November 2003, NGI-NZ and Internet2 in the United States signed a Memorandum of Understanding for international collaboration.
Internet2 is a consortium of 205 United States research universities established to further US leadership in research and higher education.
This relationship, along with NGI-NZ's memberships of other international network organisations such as APAN and APNIC, ensure that the New Zealand network taps into and benefits from global communities of interest in research and education.
